RCK Peyer & MosleyUniversity of Wisconsin-Rock County Athletic Director Grant McNall has announced the hire of two new basketball coaches.  Head Coach William “Bill” Peyer will lead the Rattlers women’s basketball team and Head Coach Jamal Mosley will lead the men.  McNall recognizes that this is UW-Rock County’s first experience having two basketball coaches.  “New coaches bring a new culture – an opportunity to instill a new identity on these teams,” McNall comments.

Mosley most recently served as head coach of men’s and women’s basketball at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton.  He is a former Division I basketball player bringing extensive experience in coaching and teaching fundamental principles and strategies, player development, recruiting, and mentoring.  “Jamal is very familiar with WCC in his field of play.  I’m looking forward to both of my new coaches taking our teams in new directions.” McNall explains.  Mosley returns, “I’m excited to continue the winning tradition here…guiding these student athletes along their road to success.  It’s good to be here.”

Peyer brings more than 15 years of experience as a local tennis and basketball coach in both private and public schools.  Peyer served as UW-Rock County’s tennis coach from 2008-2014 during which time the men won the 2012 state title and Peyer was named coach of the year.  “Hiring Bill was a no-brainer considering his experience on campus over the years,” McNall confidently explains.

“I want to make an effort bringing students from high schools…I expect to appear in top tier.  We will be aggressive this year, not sitting back,” Peyer explains.  Peyer is also a Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) licensed basketball referee in Wisconsin.

This year, UW-Rock County Rattlers men’s and women’s basketball home games will be streamed live on WADR, Janesville Community Radio, 103.5 FM.  This agreement provides community members, families and friends of athletes as well as campus alumni access to UW-Rock County basketball action as it happens.  Fans can also expect to hear live interviews from coaches and players during game breaks and half-time.  Tune in at  The UW-Rock County Rattlers host their first home games in the Frank Holt Gymnasium vs. University of Wisconsin-Marinette on Saturday, October 29 beginning with the women’s game at 1 p.m. and the men’s game at 3 p.m.

UW-Rock County Rattlers compete in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference (WCC), an athletic conference made up of the thirteen two-year college campuses of the University of Wisconsin System.  For more information about UW-Rock County athletics contact Athletic Director Grant McNall at  For more information about the UW-Rock County campus, visit
