1. To add superscript style type (for mathematical exponents) or subscripts (for mathematical series), type the text that you want to have altered. As a sample, if I wanted x-cubed, I would type x3
2. Highlight just the text you want to have modified into a superscript or subscript (in this case, just the 3).
3. In the menus, select FORMAT > FONT and then checkbox the style you desire
4. For most TrueType font faces - you can also apply other characteristics, such as Shadow, Outline, Small Caps, etc.
