When you log into the on-campus computers, you will see a H: drive. This is a private network space that allows you to save your files for classes, homework, and research. You have 10 Megabytes of disk quota - and all of your files are backed up to tape drive every night (therefore this is a SAFE place to save your files).
In addition - no matter which computer you use, you will have access to your same H: drive. This means that you can save the files on one computer and bring them up on any other computer on campus.
To get your H: drive, either
- Double-click on the MY COMPUTER icon on the desktop OR
- Right-mouse-click on the START button, and choose Explore.
You will then get a file browser. In the drop-down list, pick your H: drive. On you H: drive, you can organize your files by creating subfolders.
