Introduction





The UW-Rock County Foundation supports over 25
scholarships each year for students who attend the
University of Wisconsin-Rock County. The scholarship
program offers encouragement and financial assistance to
promising students.

Requirements
What are the Requirements?

New Students
Acceptance at UW-Rock County for the academic school year
Graduate from high school by August 31 and be in the top 25% of your class
Submit ACT scores and transcript
Present two letters of recommendation, an essay, and a UW-Rock County scholarship application form
Scholarship with a financial need component may require a completed F.A.F.S.A. form or copy of parent’s most recent tax return

Evaluation is a result of class rank, ACT score, essay, and letters of recommendation

Continuing Students
Acceptance at UW-Rock County for the following academic school year
Record of previous credits earned at an accredited college or university
Proof of cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at prior institution. Grades earned 7 years or more prior to application are disregarded
Submit an essay, two letters of recommendation, and UW-Rock County scholarship application form
Scholarships with a financial need component may require a completed F.A.F.S.A. form or copy of student’s most recent tax return

Evaluation is a result of class rank, ACT score, essay, and two letters of recommendation

Albrecht Memorial Scholarship:
For a new or continuing student who is enrolled full- or part-time, is handicapped or disabled, and is a resident of Rock County. This fund is a component of the Community Foundation of Southern WI, Inc.

Harris and Marion Allen Endowed Scholarship:
For a new or continuing student who is enrolled full- or part-time.

For a new or continuing student who is enrolled full- or part-time.

Charles & Carolyn Mowbray Scholarship :
This endowed scholarship fund was established by Charles & Carolyn Mowbray, long-time Janesville residents who believe in higher education here at UW-Rock County. Restrictions:
Full-time student residing in Southern Wisconsin with preference to students living in Rock or Green County
One scholarship to be awarded to a first-year student and one scholarship awarded to a second-year student
Written acknowledgement of receipt of scholarship from the receipt of the scholarship from the recipient to the donors
"B" or better high school GPA or "B" or better GPA while attending UW-Rock County.

Lars Christianson Memorial Scholarship:
For new or continuing student who is enrolled full- or part-time and has shown exceptional academic or artistic promise. This fund is a component of the Community Foundation of Southern WI, Inc.

Julia Conkling Hornbostel Endowed Scholarship:
For a new or continuing student who is enrolled full-time and is pursing a degree in liberal arts.

Kimball Scholarship:
For a new or continuing female student who is enrolled full- or part-time, is pursuing a degree in education, and has financial need.

Blackhawk Golden "K" Kiwanis Scholarships:
For a new or continuing student who is enrolled full- or part-time and is a resident of Janesville.

OASIS Non-Traditional Student Scholarship
For students 21 years of age or older.

Partnership for Parents:
For single parents caring for one or more dependent children. Must be eligible for financial aid, seeking an associates or bachelor's degree and employed at least part time. Must be enrolled at UW-Rock County and registered for a minimum of six credits. Continuing UW-Rock County students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Mae Theisen Scholarship:
For a new or continuing student who is enrolled full- or part-time, has financial need, is a graduate of a Janesville high school, and is a Janesville resident. This fund is a component of the Community Foundation of Southern WI, Inc.

UW-Rock County Foundation Scholarships/Awards:
Unrestricted Scholarship and Award Fund. Sources of this fund include payroll deduction contributions and the balances of other scholarships not disbursed because conditions of the awards were not met.

Woodruff Charitable Trust Scholarship:
For a new or continuing student who is full- or part-time and is a resident of the Janesville area.

Woman-to-Woman Scholarship:
For a new or continuing female student who is enrolled full- or part-time, is non-traditional (over the age of 21), and has financial need.
