These extra-credit opportunities will allow you, if you are willing to spend a few hours, to improve your exam average. They also are valuable ways for you to better prepare for the next lecture exam.
You actually have two different extra-credit opportunities. You may do one or the other or both.
Options:
1) Write an exam
2) Take someone else's exam
3) Do both of the above
Due Date and Time: When we take Exam II, no later
Write your own exam: The objective is to write an Exam 2 that is as close as possible to the content, difficulty, length, format, and appearance of the exam I write. Do not work in groups, and do not put questions from the practice test or worksheets into your test. You do not have to provide an answer key. The number of bonus points you get will depend on how well you satisfy the objectives listed above. A maximum of 3 percentage points will be added to your lowest "keeper" exam grade (remember, you already can drop the lowest grade). Make sure your mock exam has your name on it and that it is a blank copy. If another student chooses to take your exam, give them a separate copy.
Take someone else's exam: Obtain a copy of a mock exam prepared by a classmate. Take their exam, but use your notes, textbook, etc. Your answers should be hand-written on their exam pages. The number of bonus points you get will depend on how correctly you answer their questions, taking into account any "bad" questions. A maximum of 3 percentage points will be added to your lowest "keeper" exam grade. Make sure the exam you take has your name on it and that it identifies the author of the exam.
Good luck!
