(Janesville, Wis.) - The University of Wisconsin-Rock County Concert Band presents "50th Anniversary Gala!" on Wednesday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirk Denmark Theatre on campus. This is a very special concert helping to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the UW-Rock campus and will feature guest conductors David Viemeister (member of the band from the 1970s and high school educator), Professor Robert Holt (professor or music at UW-Rock until 1997) and Professor Theodore Kinnaman (professor of music at UW-Rock until 1994). In addition, this concert will feature long time member of the band William Burdick performing a tuba solo entitled "Beelzebub" composed by Antonio Catozzi (and conducted by Professor Holt), the UW-Rock Alma Mater entitled "Hail to Thee, Veritas" composed by noted alumni David Ramsey (and conducted by Professor Kinnaman), and other selections including works by Karl L. King, Richard Saucedo, Percy Grainger, and others.
