The U-Rock Theatre Department will be holding auditions for the fall musical "Big Fish" on Monday, Sept. 11 starting at 5:30pm.

To sign up for an audition, email Theatre Director Trevor Rees at trevor.rees@uwc.edu for a 5 minute audition slot between 5:30pm and 8:30pm. Walk-in's are also welcome!

A 16-32 bar musical theatre song is needed for the audition. If for some reason you absolutely aren't able to complete this, we ask that you still audition! An accompanist will be provided. The audition is open to all students, staff, faculty, and community members! Also, a child actor/young adult actor is needed for the role of Young Will. This performer should sign up for a slot with parent/guardian permission and also the parent/guardian is required to accompany the young performer for the 5 minute audition (essentially be in the audition room).

Depending on the initial auditions, callbacks will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, Sept. 13. Additional information will be sent to those who receive a callback.

About the show:

Big Fish – Small Cast Edition is the new, small-cast version (for 12-actors) of the Broadway musical. Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, Big Fish tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest… and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him – most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. Overflowing with heart, humor and spectacular stagecraft, Big Fish is an extraordinary new Broadway musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre – for an experience that’s richer, funnier and BIGGER than life itself.

Show dates: Oct. 27, 28, 29 & Nov. 3, 4, 5
