UW-Rock County hosts first undergraduate research forum November 30

Student researchers examine patriarchal misinterpretation of the Quran; phonological analysis of Cuban Spanish; conflicting perspectives on the immigrant and refugee perspective; and, evolution of Ancient Greek warfare

(Janesville, Wis) - University of Wisconsin-Rock County faculty and students will host “Rock Stars: Celebrating UW-Rock County Student Scholars and Artists” – an undergraduate research forum – on Wednesday, November 30 from 12-2 p.m. in Andrews 135 on campus.

Participating students and their research topics being presented are:

  • Madeline Westrick of Fort Atkinson presents “Islamic Feminism” 
  • Peter Kelly of Beloit presents “Linguistic Heritage Project”
  • Jeanne Myers of Janesville, Maclain Dodson of Beloit, and Amanda Richards of Janesville present “Students without Borders: Female Immigrants and Refugees in Contemporary British Cinema”
  • David Zahn of Beloit presents “The Evolution of Ancient Greek Warfare”
