(Janesville, Wis.) The University of Wisconsin-Rock County German Club hosts a free screening of the German film, “Er ist wieder da” (English title: “Look Who’s Back”), on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Kirk Denmark Theatre on campus.
The satirical film explores what would happen if Adolf Hitler were to wake up in modern Berlin. He becomes a media darling when the public believes he is a hilarious performance artist who never breaks character. Is Adolf Hitler ready for modern Germany? How does modern Germany react to Hitler and his viewpoints?
Based on the highly successful novel of the same name, the movie was released in 2015, won several international film awards, and was nominated for many more. The film is presented in German, with English subtitles. Running time is 1 hour, 56 minutes. This event is free and open to the public.
