My primary interest is in communication education. As an educator, my goal is to help students find their own voices and to process the myriad of voices swirling around us every day. My research interests center around that concept. Current projects include examining heroines in literature, analyzing public speaking rubrics, creating better tools for teaching at-risk K-12 students, and creating better community connections between student groups and local organizations. I am a member of the National Communication Association, Central States Communication Association, and Wisconsin Communication Association. I’m the Co-Chair of the Senate Faculty Appeals and Grievances Committee, Vice Chair of the Communication and Theatre Arts Department, and I advise the Alliance on campus.
