New freshmen are required to attend orientation to remain registered for classes. During orientation students meet with faculty and students and learn about available resources. Orientation activities are designed to acquaint students with college life and what is expected of college students.

Placement testing is required of all new freshmen and transfer students (with no previous college level math or English courses). We offer UW System Placement Testing beginning in April and throughout the summer for new fall semester students, and during late fall for new spring semester students. There is a placement testing fee.

ACT Test Scores are required off all newly admitted freshmen who have graduated from high school within two years, and are under 21 years of age. These test scores will be used for admission determination and for future academic advising.
