Becoming a student at the UW-Rock County is a three step process and our advisors are available to help you every step of the way!


First, apply for admission...apply on-line at http://apply.wisconsin.edu/ or pick up an application at the Student Services Office or at an area high school...
Second
, take placement tests...

, meet with an advisor and register for classes.

New Students

Definition -- High school graduates or GED holder. Applicants who have been out of school for two or more years should contact the Office of Student Services for clarification of their admission status.
UW System Application -- Required
Filing Fee $35 -- Required
Transcripts -- High school transcripts or GED test scores/certificate required.

Transfer Students

Definition -- Students who have attended another college and are in good standing
UW System Application -- Required
Filing Fee $35 -- Required. UW Filing Fee is not required if transferring from another UW College (2-year campus) where credit was earned.
Transcripts -- High school transcripts or GED test scores/certificate required.

Re-entry Students

Definition -- Previously enrolled but not enrolled at a UW Colleges campus in prior semester
UW System Application -- Required
Filing Fee $35 -- Exempt
Transcripts -- Transcripts required if you attended a college or university other than a UW College campus.

Special Students

Definition -- Non degree seeking; enrolled for six credits or less
UW System Application -- Required
Filing Fee $35 -- Exempt
Transcripts -- Must apply after 6 credits. After special students earn 6 credits, they must complete the required UW System application, pay the filing fee and submit transcripts of high school and post secondary work.

Definition -- High School Seniors or Juniors
UW System Application -- Required

Transcripts -- High school transcript

Auditors

Definition -- Students seeking no academic credit
UW System Application -- Required
Filing Fee $35 -- Exempt
Transcripts -- None required

Auditing

You may audit lecture courses with the consent of the instructor. Audited courses are not counted in determining full-time attendance; however, audited courses are included in determining your fees. The fees for "audit only" are 30% of the regular credit rate for Wisconsin and Minnesota residents, and 50% of the non-resident rate for non-residents. Students taking a combination of credit and audit courses will be charged the full per credit rate. (Audit fees shall be removed for all disabled Wisconsin residents who are receiving federal old age survivors and disability insurance benefits (OASDI) under 42 USC 401 to 433.)
